The Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education uses gentle movement and directed attention to help people learn and embody more effective ways of moving.
The Feldenkrais Method is based on principles of physics, biomechanics, neuroplasticity, learning and human development.
Feldenkrais sessions are offered both in-person and online, and they can involve verbal guidance, hands-on techniques, or a blend of both. Julie's keen ability to observe the specific needs and patterns emerging in her clients' bodies enables her to effectively guide them toward a healthier alignment and more comfortable movement.
Pilates is based on a balance of strength and length. Sessions can be adapted to fit the needs of people from elite athletes to older adults with mobility limitations.
You can opt for private or duet sessions in-person using the Pilates equipment at the Moving Lively loft space.
Alternatively, we offer online group sessions including Gentle Pilates Mat sessions utilizing foam rollers, small hand weights, and resistance bands, as well as Pilates Chair Lite sessions for those preferring a seated practice. These group sessions are offered via Zoom.
Craniosacral is a gentle, hands-on technique that uses light touch to release restrictions in the soft tissues around the central nervous system.
Julie's approach to this modality borders on the edge of energy work. With decades of experience, she has finely tuned her ability to sense imbalances and discern clients' needs. Skillfully tapping into subtle energies, she works to balance, calm, and revitalize both body and mind.
These sessions are available in person only.
